XP / DELL / HP printer issue

be grateful if anyone can suggest a fix for this printer problem please!.

DELL XPS 210 core2duo E6600 proc. 2.44 Ghz (just 1 yr old)
Win XP / SP2 already installed + service updates
Printers: HP 350C DesignJet Plotter & HP DeskJet 1220C printer
----------------------------------------------------------
on a regular basis, when sending a print to either machine (especially the
plotter), it sends the print, but fails to print!, the only resolution is to
close down the whole set-up and restart and immediately on bootup the prints
start once this is complete!. Drivers are as updated as HP have on support.
(no error messages are displayed - just fails to print).
rather annoying process to have to keep doing.

any suggestions please?.
thank you!.

First read How to Troubleshoot a Printer and let us know if that helps/ not. Waiting for your response before we can go deeper into the issue :)

Re: XP / DELL / HP printer issue

I encountered numerous problems with my new HP C4385 due to the software that accompanies the device. My advice is to use Add/Remove to remove all the HP software then go to www.hp.com and download the drivers for each of your printers. Try the bare essentials. It might resolve the conflict you're experiencing.

Re: XP / DELL / HP printer issue

thank you for your comments and sorry to not get back before.

several issues with this setup eventually resorted to buying a new plotter! and so far this has not caused any problems. i think with new hardware and drivers the whole setup is smoother.

thanks again!!
